Refresh an existing garden bed
Thin or uneven mulch can make an otherwise established bed look unfinished. We assess the remaining coverage and quote the work needed for an even finish, including removal or clearing where required.
Prepare a new mulched area
For a front lawn, backyard or side-yard conversion, grass removal and surface preparation come first. We can plan the whole area or keep the lawn you still use. The quote separates groundwork from mulch installation.

Wind can blow lighter mulch out of beds, particularly in open or exposed yards. You may need to rake displaced mulch back into place. Organic mulch also breaks down over time, so it needs periodic top-ups or replacement to keep the intended coverage.

How much does mulch installation cost in Calgary? +
Mulch installation labour starts at $1 per square foot, with a $500 minimum call-out. Mulch and delivery are extra. Bed clearing, old-material removal, disposal and edging are quoted separately when required.
Does the price include the mulch? +
No. We quote material separately based on the mulch you select and the quantity needed. If you want to supply your own material, tell us before booking so we can confirm the delivery location and installation scope.
Can you top up an existing mulched bed? +
Yes. We review the existing material and condition before deciding whether the bed needs clearing, removal or only a top-up. New mulch should not simply conceal weeds or other work that needs attention.
How much mulch will I need? +
The quantity depends on bed area, existing coverage and the agreed finished depth. Share approximate dimensions if you have them. We confirm material quantity and depth for the actual bed before installation.
Will mulch eliminate weeding? +
No. Mulch can help slow weed growth and reduce moisture loss, but weeds and maintenance are still part of a planted bed. Wind can scatter lighter mulch, especially in exposed areas. Organic mulch breaks down over time and needs periodic replenishment.

If large rocks, boulders, concrete, buried debris, roots, or other obstructions prevent drilling to the requested depth, drilling will proceed only as deep as reasonably possible with the available equipment.
The applicable minimum service charge remains payable regardless of the final drilling depth or number of holes completed.
If ground conditions require additional work, specialized equipment, or a different excavation method, any additional costs will be discussed and agreed upon before proceeding.
Important: The minimum service charge is not reduced or refunded due to unexpected ground conditions or obstructions.
